Many questions arise when dealing with a disc jockey or you are investigating the option of using one.  These are many of the questions you may want to ask a DJ or things to consider when making your entertainment decision.  This page is one of the busiest portions of the website.  Know what your getting into upfront when hiring a DJ.
When should we reserve our disc jockey?
Normally you should book your DJ about 8 to 10
months ahead of your date.  Bil personally books about 18 months in advance.		 How much experience do the DJs have?
Our DJs average about 40 to 60 weddings per year.  That does not include the other events like bars, socials and parties.

How much do you charge for an event?
Our packages vary.  We have set packages or you
can design your own around your needs.
 		 Are you a reputable company?
We believe we are.  We deal with many of the areas most reputable reception facilities and vendors. 

Do you perform music for ceremonies?
Yes.  We will work with you to tailor your ceremony specifically to your vision.
 		 Are there any surprise charges?
No. 
Can you offer references?
Yes.  We have some on the site and we have
volumes of books with references.
When does the DJ arrive prior to my event?
Normally your DJ will arrive 30-60 minutes prior to your contracted time.
 
If I have a quote from another DJ, will you match it?
Yes.  We offer a price match guarantee.  It has to be
for a comparable service and you must supply us
with the quote.		 Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes.  If you must reschedule.  The balance is fully refundable.  The deposit is transferrable to another date or to a friend.
Are you insured?
Yes.  Our DJs carry a 2 million dollar liability coverage through AVIVA.		 Does the DJ know how to read the crowd?
Skill.  Training.  Experience. The use of the planning tools we provide you with. 
Do you offer any other services?
We do not offer any other wedding related services except invitations.  We do offer custom home, 
audio and video products and installations.		 Can we visit an event to see you play?
No.  You can listen online to our events.  You can see pictures online also.

Do we provide a meal for the DJ?
You are not required to.  Your DJ will stay and play background music if he is fed.  He will leave to eat
for 45 minutes and return.
 		 What does the DJ wear?
Dress shirt.  Dress shoes.  Tie.  Dress pants.  We dress to fit in, not stand out.

Do you offer a discount if we book another party with you?
Yes.  We offer $75.00 off your stag and doe when
the wedding is booked with us.
 		 I have a band.  Can you work with them too?
Yes.  We have worked with many different bands and those of different nationalities.  Ask us how to save money by doing this!
Will the DJ be talking on the microphone all night?
NO.  We talk when we must.  We interact with our
brides and grooms.  We do dedications. Thats all! 
Too much talk means less music played.		 Do you belong to any professional organizations?
Yes.  We are past members of the Canadian Disc Jockey Association.  Bil was the VP.  We are now members of the Canadian Online DJ Association or CODJA.

Do we receive a signed contract?
Yes.  This is our guarantee that we will be there
and the date is secure.  Our online system does
not allow us to overbook.
 		 Can we see or meet with our disc jockey?
Yes.  We have open houses where you can meet the DJ. We have a bar we play at you can meet them at.  Our bio section has info about the DJs.
How do you select the DJ for our event?
The DJ is selected by you!  The more information you
put in your online planning area, the easier it is for us
to match the DJ to you.		 What will the DJ play at our event and will they take requests?
We will play what you want.  We will take requests based on your plays and do not plays.
Can you meet with me to discuss our event?
Yes.  We meet with all our clients.  You can come to
one of our open houses or make a personal meeting.		 Is there a payment plan?
Yes.  You can make payments at anytime you wish with our online payment system.  You will always know your balance.
How far will you travel in Ontario?
Anywhere.  		 How flexible are you?
Very!  We are being hired by you.  
Will you travel to the USA or another province?
Yes we will and we already have.  It is not that expensive for us to come and play at an event in the USA or another province.		 What if I want a specific DJ...what do I do?
There is no extra charge for asking for a specific DJ. You should try to book with us early.  Bil usually books 18 months in advance.
What is the deposit to secure an event?
The deposit is usually 250. for weddings only.  We
usually do not take deposits for any other events.		 Do you offer Dry Ice?
Yes we do.  The price varies slightly because of the seasons.  Summer is slightly higher than cooler weather. 
Are you licensed?
Yes we are.  We carry AVLA licenses with all our music systems.		 Do you offer lighting effects?
Yes.  You can see many of them on our website or live at our office and showroom.
Are you a full time DJ service?
Yes we are.  We have full time staff in the office. 
Hours vary but usually 9am to 10pm are pretty
normal.		 Do you offer Pyrotechnics?
NO.  Many halls and facilities do not allow this to happen.  In the past, Bil had his pyrotechnics certificate from the Canadian Government...insurance and security has changed all that now!
Why do I keep seeing thunderdj?
Thunderdj is the school, nightclub, university and college side of the company.  Its was just a marketing error gone right!		 How long have you been in business?
We have been a growing company for over 12 years.  Bil has had the company now since 1984.
My hall has a DJ.  Do I have to use them?
No. There are only 2 halls in southern ontario that force you to use their dj.  Other than that, you are the paying customer!
