 We are insured. Our equipment is and warehouse is insured...but most of all, our DJs carry liability insurance. What is this important? You never know if someone is going to be injured at your event. The other main reason is that many professional banquet facilities require all onsite working vendors to have liability insurance. Each DJ carries a liability policy with them to each venue. We purchase licensed music from a content provider. What does this mean to you. First it shows that we pay our dues so that the record companies and artists are receiving payment for us playing their music. Second is that it also tells you we are not downloading music from the internet and playing for profit. This is actually a criminal offence. You cannot steal music from the net and use it to profit from it. You cant even use songs purchased online at a public event! SOCAN is not a fee that is collected by us. It is collected by the hall. That fee applies to any facility that plays music or allows music to be played to create an ambient environment. This money goes to the writers and publishers of the music we play.
